Mr. Mester has 30 years of experience leading engineering, consulting, fabrication, and operation teams in the bulk material handling industry. He has worked domestically and internationally. He has strong experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues including incident management. He is unique as an engineer in that he brings years of experience being responsible for running the bulk material handling operations of a 14-terminal, 400+ employee group for Kinder Morgan to his role as an engineering consultant. He supported Kinder Morgan’s merger and acquisition efforts in performing due-diligence and played a key role in Kinder Morgan sales of terminal assets. He also led incident investigation teams for Kinder Morgan and others to comprehend the course of events that lead to major equipment and operational failures and how best to engineer and manage to prevent them.
Prior to joining InterMat. Mr. Mester ran KMEC, a turnkey, engineering design, fabrication, and erection company. At KMEC he led a variety of projects from developing unique solutions for material handling industry to large multi-million-dollar conveying projects for major greenfield capital projects. Over the course of his career, he has worked on a variety of projects including bulk material handling, unit handling, power and free systems and scrap handling systems. He has led efforts in developing asset management plans and the deployment of capital to manage the risk to the health safety and the environment while providing maximal return on investment.
Mr. Mester began his career in Detroit working at KTB in the manufacturing, automation, and industrial engineering field for major automotive manufacturers and suppliers. He led the transformation of KTB’s use of IT, CAD and Simulation tools to increase the productivity and quality of the company’s value to their customer base.
